Jane B. Francke Sanctuary

The Jane B. Francke Sanctuary has been lovingly maintained by the members of the North Country Garden Club of Long Island for many years. This 3.8 acre woodland is a perpetual memorial to one of the club’s most inspiring members, conservationist Jane B. Francke. In 1957, NCGC member Ada Francke Whitaker, Jane Francke’s daughter, gave the land in memory of her mother to the Village of Brookville. NCGC members care for the garden and its wildlife throughout the year.

The Francke Sanctuary is located on Brookville Road opposite Muttontown Road. Open to the public from dawn to dusk, the Francke Sanctuary is very accessible with parking for cars and entry through a pedestrian gate.  Leashed dogs are welcome!
