Raynham Hall Herb Garden
In the Spring of 2010, The North Country Garden Club provided a grant to the Raynham Hall Museum in Oyster Bay to restore the Victorian Herb Garden in memory of longtime member Carley Wagner who devoted much of her time and talent to both our club and Raynham Hall. “The idea is to beautify the garden and the grounds in historically accurate ways, and also to use the improved garden to anchor new programming on the use of herbs — culinary, medicinal, aromatic, and other — in the Victorian households of this area,” reported Raynham Hall Museum’s Director, Harriet Clark. The garden beds include lavender, sage, rosemary, thyme, chives, dill, fennel, and garden rue.
