Past events include “C-Change Conversations”, an educational, non-partisan presentation on the science of climate change co-sponsored with the North Shore Land Alliance; a panel discussion on “The State of Long Island’s Water” co-sponsored with the North Shore Land Alliance and The Nature Conservancy; “Food and Climate, The Way Forward”, a lecture and panel discussion demonstrating that our food systems are significant contributors to climate change, co-sponsored with the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, North Shore Land Alliance, Three Harbors Garden Club, St. John’s Church of Cold Spring Harbor and The Nature Conservancy Long Island Chapter; and “Energy From Thin Air”, a presentation at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory on how plant science and innovative new methods for capture carbon can bring greenhouse gas emissions down to sustainable levels co-sponsored with Three Harbors Garden Club.
